Finding New Targets

Since Scott Brown's stunning upset in Massachusetts ten days ago forced President Obama and liberal Democrats in Congress to put their version of Healthcare reform on the back burner they had to go out and find new targets for their liberal anti business, punish achievers, penalize wealth agenda.
They obviously found two to focus their wrath on as Dems in Congress attempted to cast doubt on Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's reappointment while the President stepped up his attack on the banking industry.
While the attempt to derail Bernancke's appointment failed it was coupled with the President's announcement to overhaul banking regulations. Those two stories managed to help send the stock market to a 658 point plunge since it's 15 month high of 10,725 on January 19...ironically the day of Brown's stunning upset.
While there were other factors that added to the plunge it's painfully obvious that Obama and liberal Dems just aren't happy unless they are attacking business and punishing the income earners in this country. However fear not....there is Hope and Change in the air! Mid term elections are just 10 months away.....And that's what shim sez...

The Wind is Picking Up

An unfriendly weather report to all Democrats and liberals across the country....that slight breeze that was reported here on November 4th after Republican gubernatorial victories in Virginia and New Jersey has been upgraded to a high wind warning....as in winds of change that is!
Republican Scott Brown's stunning victory in Massachusetts last night sent a clear message to liberals everywhere and to Washington in particular...America has stopped buying the garbage you are selling!
Brown's clear cut victory was a crushing blow to the latest Obama/Congress money and power grab..Healthcare reform. We can only hope that it's a sign of more changes to come.
With the three aforementioned elections combined with the forced retirement of Chris Dodd and Harry Reid's growing unpopularity in Nevada we can only hope that the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Barney Frank and company fall victims to the next strong winds that blow through Washington...mid term elections coming up in November. Now that's what I call "Hope and Change"...and that's what shim sez.

How The Mighty Have Fallen

Just one short year ago shouts of "Yes We Can" and "Hope and Change" rang across America. Our bright new President was in charge, Democrats held an overwhelming majority in Congress, George Bush was being blamed for anything and everything that went wrong, and liberal pundits were declaring the Republican party dead and bankrupt of ideas.
Early on in the Obama presidency a $787 billion dollar spending plan was ram rodded through Congress.."No time to think about it, we need to get this done to save America" was the theme.
Obama and Congress took over the auto industry, villified the financial industry and set out to over take the healthcare industry.....then a funny thing happened.
Rather than swoon at his every word and marvel at his numerous talk show appearances Americans actually started LISTENING to what he was saying...and they stopped buying it!
The results have been astounding. Healthcare reform is going much slower than planned (perhaps it's because all polls show the vast majority of Americans were against an overhaul of our healthcare system to begin with.)
Obama also embarrassed himself in the Coppenhagen Olympic debacle taking some of the shine off of his celebrity reputation. In addition Democrats lost two key governors races in New Jersey and Virginia, and liberal Senate supporters Harry Reid and Chris Dodd are in big trouble in Nevada and Connecticut, (with Dodd having announced his retirement) putting those seats up for grabs for the first time in years. When you add to the mix that his wishy/washy "surge with a timetable" game plan for Afghanistan angered both liberals and conservatives alike it's easy to see why the President is heading into his second term with only a 46% approval rating..the lowest rating for a President at that juncture since they started tracking it!
On top of all of this healthcare reform will suffer it's biggest blow yet in a few days when the previously unthinkable happens and Republican Scott Brown wins the special election for Ted Kennedy's seat in Massachusetts..a seat Democrats have held for 60 years and more importantly taking away the Dems magic 60th vote in the Senate.
Wow! All of this and mid term elections are still 10 months away..."YES...WE...CAN!"...and that's what shim sez...
